SECTIONAL CHAMPS!
LADY MUSTANGS 1 - MCHENRY 0 IN SECTIONAL FINALS
It took 10 innings to defeat McHenry 1-0. Lauren Ott (10 IP, 37 BF, 7 hits, 11 Ks, 1 BB, 139 pitches) was on cruise control until the top of the 6th. McHenry led off the 6th with a double by Natalie Kotow, followed by a Alyssa Brown single. After a failed bunt attempt by Maria Sorrentino, Ott struck out the next two batters to end the inning. In the 8th McHenry threatened once again with bases loaded and one out. Ott forced to short pop outs to Katie Randau (2 for 4, double, single, sac bunt) and Christine Scott. The 10th inning was like a rerun from the Libertyville game. Before the inning started Katie Scott reminded Leslie Harshey and Erica Harris about the game before where Leslie Harshey “got on”, Katie “moved her over”, and Erica Harris “hit her in.” And so it was, Harshey single to center, Katie Scott moved her to second on a sacrifice bunt, (on the third strike no less) and Erica Harris (Miss Clutch), hit a deep fly double to center to drive home Leslie Harshey from second. Sectional Champions!

1st INNING RUN ENOUGH IN NERVE-RACKING THRILLER!
MUSTANGS HANG ON FOR NSC CROWN!
MHS ace pitcher Lauren Ott fired a fantastic game to lead the Mustangs to the NSC Conference Championship -- a title that was all but out of their grasp just a week ago. But the door was left open by a Stevenson loss and the 'Stangs capitalized, just as they did tonight in the championship showdown against Prairie Division winner, Vernon Hills.

The Mustangs game-winning run came in the 1st when Megan Curry jacked a clutch double to score Ana Antonetti. Then it was Lauren's game the rest of the way as she baffled Cougar batters, especially with runners on base.
