History
The Mundelein Boys Gymnastics team is known for numerous state appearances as
well as numerous titles. Throughout the years of the program, Mundelein
gymnastics has made 16 state appearances, won 10 trophies including 6 first
place trophies, 3 second place trophies and 1 third place trophy. Mundelein
gymnastics hopes to keep this tradition of state appearances alive and
has set their standards high for the upcoming year.

MHS GYMNAST FRANZEN SECOND IN NATIONALS
The Illinois Boys Gymnastics Team, coached by Mundelein High School gymnastics coach Eric Liva, won the National Boys Gymnastics Championships in Texas on May 22. Mundelein gymnast Kevin Franzen represented the team with an outstanding performance and second place national finish on the parallel bars. This is the first time ever that the Illinois gymnastics team has won the Nationals. The Illinois team ousted favorite Texas, and Connecticut for the first place win.
COMING UP BIG IN CLUTCH
MUSTANGS PULL OFF THEIR BEST POINT TOTAL OF YEAR TO GRAB 7th IN STATE!
MHS came up with their best performance of the year on Friday night to finish 7th overall in Illinois. In Saturday's individual competition, Kevin Franzen (pictured above) capped off a tremendous MHS career with a 3rd place finish on the parallel bars. Matt Fluhr did the Mustangs proud as well as he finished 7th in the individual all-around event as did Joe Uczen on the high bar. Also, Kevin will compete this week with the Illinois Boys Gymnastics Team at the National championships in Texas. Our MHS coach, Eric Liva, has been the coach of the Illinois Boys Gymnastics Team since 1999. Best of luck to Kevin!!
