This weekend Senior Alex Mena will be competing in the IHSA State Cross Country Championships.
Helping the Mustangs to a 6 -1 dual meet record, Alex went undefeated in dual meets and was the individual champion in the Wauconda Invitational, the largest invitational in Lake County. Alex has placed in the top 10 in every invitational this year, including a 2nd place finish in the Lake County Invitational and an 8th place finish in the 51 team Peoria Invitational. Alex was the runner-up in the NSC Conference Championship, 3rd place in the Lake Zurich Regional, and 10 place in the Palatine Sectional.
Alex is the 3rd Mustang to qualify for the IHSA State Cross Country Championships behind Dan Skarda (1976) and Nathan Sweet (22nd Place 1987).

Mundelein's Alex Mena, with a time of 15:54 came in first place at the Wauconda Invitational.
The Boy's Varsity team placed 9th out of 40 teams.
Individual Medal winners were on the Freshman/Sophomore level: Martin Mena.
On the varsity level, Matt Hoffmeyer placed 7th.
