Coaches

Dick Knar – Head Varsity Coach
Married 17 years to wife Theresa. Has a set of twins; Antonette Renee and Richard III, 14, and son Robert John, 11. Was head basketball coach at Northridge Prep from 1997-2004. Took over a program that never won a conference game and proceeded to win 2 conference championships, 2 regional crowns, and 1 sectional championship. Coach Knar garnered 3 Chicago Prep Conference Coach of the Year Awards and 2 Illinois District 4 Coach of the Year Awards. Prior to that, he spent 10 years as an assistant coach at NCAA Division I Northeastern Illinois University, where he helped guide the Golden Eagles to the best record in the Chicagoland area of all Division I schools.

Corey Knigge – Assistant Varsity Coach
Played at Grayslake High School. For the past 10 years has been a coach for The Rising Stars AAU organization. Worked for 2 years as a varsity assistant for the boys’ program at Grayslake. Was a varsity assistant for the girls’ program at Stevenson for 5 years during which the team made one trip down state and were ranked as high as 12th in the country in the USA Today. For the last two years was the head coach at AlWood High School. Last year’s team went 18-13 and won the first regional game in 20 years.
