AT-RISK STUDENTS
 
•  To provide a learning community with an expectation that all students in our school community graduate from MHS by:
  o  Establishing an effective identification process for students who struggle academically during their school experience.
  o  Establishing an effective identification process for students who struggle socially or emotionally during their school experience.
  o  Developing and executing intervention plans for students identified as struggling and/or at-risk.
  o  Providing information to the academic committee regarding appropriate elective courses in which the at-risk students can enroll.
  o  Providing information to the co-curricular committee regarding appropriate extracurricular activities in which at-risk students can participate.
     
•  To provide a learning community that promotes freshman success by:
  o  Providing meaningful communication with incoming 9th graders and their parents regarding necessary habits and procedures to allow students the greatest chance of success at MHS.
  o  Establishing effective articulation with sender districts in to identify potential at-risk 9th graders.
  o  Providing mandatory summer programming to ensure a successful transition for at-risk students.
  o  Establishing an effective identification and intervention process for students who demonstrate struggles during 9th grade.
