Are you a Band Booster? Think you might be?
If you’ve got a student involved in the MHS band program in any way, you are invited to become an active member of the MHS Band Boosters. The Band Boosters are a parent organization that works with the band directors to enrich the program at MHS. The Boosters help to coordinate fundraising opportunities, hospitality at home concerts and volunteers for things like chaperoning, event supervision and much more.
The Band Boosters generally meet on the first Thursday of each month to discuss upcoming events. All band parents are encouraged to attend to stay informed and involved with their students’ musical experiences. If you are not currently receiving electronic mailings from the band boosters please contact Laura Wickman at wbltandj@sbcglobal.net. She will get your email on the circulation list as soon as possible. Please bookmark this page and check back for updates!
Current Volunteer Needs
The MHS band program could not function without a dedicated roster of band parent volunteers. As we continue preparations for the 2008-2009 school year we have identified key volunteer needs for the future. Some of our most critical volunteer needs in the near future are outlined below:
- Marching Band uniform chair
- Concert uniform chair
- Band Booster president
- Band Booster secretary
As volunteers’ students graduate there is a need to train new volunteers to take over the duties. Though many of the above positions are currently filled it is preferable to use a shadowing strategy to get new volunteers acclimated. The sooner we get new volunteers for these positions, the more time they will have to become familiar with them. Please contact the band office if you would like to know more about any of the above positions. (Note that interest in a position will not result in the conscription of your services for said position! If you’re interested, talk to us about it.) |
