In this introductory class we will discuss creative case studies that utilize fundamental Word skills. We cover business letters, memorandums, reports, and resume preparation with a focus on the importance of maintaining proper business formatting. Lessons are hands-on. Prerequisite: Knowledge and experience in basic Windows functions and keyboarding skills. The course fee includes a $25 textbook.

Students will be presented with creative case studies that utilize Word skills beyond the basics, including desktop publishing, preparing newsletters and employee policy manuals. We will cover the organization of long documents, research papers, and Web integration. Lessons are hands-on. The course fee includes a $25 textbook.
Introduction to Microsoft Excel 2003

Wednesdays, September 10 – October 8, 2008

This class will use Microsoft Excel 2003 to create simple worksheets, using formulas and functions. Students will learn the formatting of cell contents, working with date and text features, restructuring worksheets and developing charts. Lessons are hands-on. Prerequisite: Knowledge and experience in basic Windows functions and keyboarding skills. The course fee includes a $25 textbook.
Intermediate Microsoft Excel 2003

Wednesdays, October 15 – November 12, 2008

Students will be presented with creative case studies that utilize Excel skills beyond the basics: developing templates and graphics, multiple-sheet workbooks, databases, PivotTables, styles and outlines. Lessons are hands-on. The course fee includes a $25 textbook.
