MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION of Mundelein Consolidated High School District 120, Lake County, Mundelein, Illinois, held on the ninth day of June, 2008 at 6:30 p.m.

It was moved by Mr. Wirt, seconded by Mr. Hitzke, that the Board of Education of Mundelein Consolidated High School District 120 approve the agenda for June 9, 2008.

CITIZENS’ COMMENTS
There were no citizen comments.
The Board took this opportunity to thank Dr. Hanson and Dr. Barbini for their hard work and dedication to Mundelein High School over the last two years and wish them the best. Dr. Hanson and Dr. Barbini thanked the Board for the opportunity.

COMMITTEE REPORTS
Long Range Planning: No Report
Finance Committee: The next Finance Committee meeting will be June 17th at 6 p.m.
SEDOL: Ms. Kennedy informed the board that the SEDOL bond issued passed at the May 28th SEDOL board meeting.
DISCUSSION
20078-09 Budget Draft No. 2
Mr. Lonquist reviewed the 2008-09 budget. There will be a hearing on August 12 and it is expected the budget will be adopted August 26, 2008.
ACTION
Review of Closed Meeting Minutes
It was moved by Mr. Hitzke, seconded by Mr. Wirt, that the Board of Education of Mundelein Consolidated High School District 120 approve the following closed session minutes continue to require confidentiality and are recommended to remain in the closed session file: November 13, 26, and 29, 2007; January 8, 2008; February 12, 2008; March 11, 2008. Confidentiality no longer exists for November 27, 2007 and December 1, 2007.
Motion approved by voice vote: 5 – 0
Verbatim Record of Executive Session
It was moved by Mr. Hitzke, seconded by Mr. Doerr, that the Board of Education of Mundelein Consolidated High School District 120 approve the closed session verbatim records be destroyed as presented: August 8, 22, and 29, 2006; September 12 and 26, 2006; October 10 and 24, 2006; November 14, 2006; and December 12, 2006.
Motion approved by voice vote: 5 - 0
Contract Renewal with Sodexho America, LLC
It was moved by Mr. Wirt, seconded by Mr. Hitzke, that the Board of Education of Mundelein Consolidated High School District 120 approve the renewal of the contract with Sodexho America, LLC for the 2008-09 school year and authorizes the Business Manager to sign the renewal agreement.

Contract Renewal with Sodexho America Maintenance Agreement
It was moved by Mr. Wirt, seconded by Mr. Hitzke, that the Board of Education of Mundelein Consolidated High School District 120 approves the submitted contract addendum for Sodexho America, LLC (Maintenance). Fees for 2008-09 will be $992,658.11. The Board authorizes the Mr. Lonquist to sign the addendum on behalf of the Board.

Prevailing Wage Rates Act
It was moved by Mr. Wirt, seconded by Mr. Hitzke, that the Board of Education of Mundelein Consolidated High School District 120 approve the resolution and certification stating compliance with the prevailing Wage Act of 1941 and authorize the Board Secretary to sign on behalf of the Board of Education.

Special Bills
It was moved by Mr. Hitzke, seconded by Mr. Doerr, that the Board of Education of Mundelein Consolidated High School District 120 approve the Superintendent’s recommendation to pay special bills with a designated board member approval and place those bills on the following month’s bill list.

AYE: Mr. Hitzke, Mr. Doerr, Ms. Kennedy, Mr. Wirt, Mr. Specht

Disposal of School Property
It was moved by Mr. Wirt, seconded by Mr. Munley, that the Board of Education of Mundelein Consolidated High School District 120 approve the disposal of the presented books no longer used by the District.

AYE: Mr. Hitzke, Mr. Doerr, Ms. Kennedy, Mr. Wirt, Mr. Specht
NAY: None
Unicom Survey
It was moved by Mr. Hitzke, seconded by Mr. Wirt, that the Board of Education of Mundelein Consolidated High School District 120 approve using the services of Unicom-Arc to conduct a survey at a cost not to exceed $19,000.

Policy Updates
It was moved by Mr. Hitzke, seconded by Mr. Wirt, that the Board of Education of Mundelein Consolidated High School District 120 approve revisions to Policy 7:60 as presented.

Textbook Adoption
It was moved by Mr. Wirt, seconded by Mr. Hitzke, that the Board of Education of Mundelein Consolidated High School District 120 approve the adoption of Blindness and A Pocket Style Manual: Fifth Edition.

AYE: Mr. Wirt, Mr. Hitzke, Ms. Kennedy, Mr. Doerr, Mr. Specht

There were no citizen comments.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
It was moved by Mr. Hitzke, seconded by Mr. Doerr, that the Board of Education adjourn to Executive Session for the purpose of discussing personnel at 6:58 p.m.
Motion approved by voice vote: 5 – 0
OPEN SESSION
The Board returned to Open Session at 7:35 p.m. No action was taken.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Mr. Hitzke, seconded by Mr. Wirt, that the Board of Education of Mundelein Consolidated High School District 120 adjourn the meeting of June 9, 2008 at 7:35 p.m.
